A valued customer in the electrical industry was in need of a custom engineered hot rolled steel mounting plate which was to be used in a switch frame insulator. The original drawings which the customer provided required design changes before production of the initial prototype. Fabrication required the blanks to be lasered from 11 and 7 gauge hot rolled steel, which was cut on our 4000 watt laser cutter. Once the parts were lasered to spec, the project required break press work. The required forming included three forms featuring 90° bends. In addition, gussets and custom machined inserts as well as standoffs were fabricated before all components were TIG welded. All machined parts were fabricated in-house. The assembly was then cleaned and powder coated a light gray per customer specs. Finally, all parts were professionally wrapped, crated and shipped to the customer located in Chicago, Illinois.

This part, which is a critical component to our customers manufacturing process, is produced on a monthly release basis. We now inventory this part which saves the customer floor space, lead time, and cost while delivering the parts as needed. Annual usage of this particular mounting bracket is approximately 3,000 – 5,000 pieces annually.
